Is it okay for a high school graduate to take their favorite teacher out to lunch?

Sounds completely legitimate to me. I've had some amazing teachers over the years. If your teacher's really that good this has probably happened before. Even if he and his family are a little suspicious about it, that will all stop once they know you only intended to see him that one time.
